Caring for Medically Fragile and Premature Infants

If you have a child with complex health issues, rest assured that our paediatric team members at Action Potential Rehabilitation understand the unique developmental challenges your child is facing.  All our paediatric physiotherapists have experience working at CHEO, and are familiar with G-Tubes, GERD, BPD, tracheotomies, and cardiac issues.  We understand that caring for your premature infant or medically fragile child places exceptional demands on you as parents and we are here to help.  We will promote your child’s development and assist with movement delays in a safe and supportive way.

One way we can support you is to visit your home to provide treatment to your baby or child.  This alleviates the stress of trying to time the drive to a clinic and therapy sessions around naps and feeding schedules, and allows your little one to be seen in their familiar and comfortable surroundings.  It is also ideal for those children requiring supplemental oxygen or suctioning.  If you would prefer, we can also see your child in a private treatment room at our clinic – the choice is yours.
